Video shorts will also explain each artist’s own unique processes and methods as they work. The live sessions on 18 September will be among the highlights of Material Lab’s 11-day Making exhibition, on display from 15-26 September. The exhibition will be one of the must-visit attractions of the designjunction West End Design Quarter, the newest destination at this year’s London Design Festival.

Jim Biddulph, Projects and Materials Manager at Material Lab, says: “This is a rare opportunity to step inside the designer’s studio, a glimpse behind the scenes of the creative processes that produce amazing finished materials. Everyone loves to know how things are made but to see it up close, live as it happens, will be a real privilege as the artists explain their thinking and approach behind their designs. It’s going to be a fun and engaging experience.”
